Work exchange
We currently have two short term work trade positions available. Participants receive lodging, use of facilities, utilities, meals and the gained knowledge that comes from the experiences had at MELC. Our work exchange programs are held from March through October, click here to learn more.

Internships
MELC currently has two dry season internships available, one long term and one short term. They range from six months to one year in length, and start at different times of the year. All internships will focus on site development and design implementation projects and activities. For the longer positions, we provide a room in a passive solar house, use of all our facilities, and a food subsidy in exchange for 20 hours of work per week. Interns who fill the dry-season positions of shorter duration are housed in a large tent or other outdoor structure in exchange for 15 hours of work per week. Garden Volunteer Days
We invite the public to volunteer in our gardens. Please click here to see our schedule This is an opportunity to spend time in the gardens, work alongside our garden staff on a variety of projects and enjoy a community potluck lunch.

MELC relies on grants and individual donors to be able to provide the public with the programs, services, skills and experiences needed for a more just and sustainable society. In order to maximize access to our programs by low-income individuals and organizations, we encourage you to support MELC by becoming a member.
